World Social Work Day 2017 (WSWD) is being celebrated all over the world on the 21st of March. This year the theme is ‘Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability’. This year on this occasion social work organizations throughout the world are commemorating Social Work Month (March) with a “Social Workers Stand Up!” campaign . This campaign is to educate the public about the contributions of #socialworkers and give social workers and their allies tools they can use to elevate the profession. Social workers stand up for millions of people every day. However we lack identity and recognition. Many people still misunderstand who social workers are and the invaluable contributions they bring to society. In this regard on behalf of NAPSWI we appeal all the social workers and NAPSWI members across the country to celebrate this day, week and the year 2017-18 by organizing various programmes at their institutes, organization and groups.
